What's been happening in our lives. (Maintained by Ed)

Rather then try to describe everything that happened since July, I'll just give you the highlights: My first semester in the PhD program was overwhelming, but in the end worked out ok. Nathalie has finished up her coursework for her Bachelors of Arts, major in History. She is applying to the Masters in Library and Information Science at McGill, so if all goes well, we'll be going to school together in September!

We've adjusted to life on the South Shore. The last few weeks have been hellishly cold, but we'd have to go all the way to BC to escape that.

Oh, and back in October, we adopted another cat. His name is Iago.

It has been a while since I've updated here, so I won't even try to mention everything that happened. We moved at the end of May into our new apartment, which was a lot of work but worth it! I was accepted into the Ph.D. program at McGill, so I'm pretty excited about that (and more then a bit nervous!). Nathalie is continuing her studies, taking courses all summer, while I'm focusing on work and preparing for the fall semester. We don't have any major vacation planned, but our schedules are flexible enough that we get to spend a lot of time together, and hopefully even head out on a few excursions around town.

Oh, and in February, we adopted a stray cat. Tobias, who goes by the name Toby, is doing very well and fitting in nicely

Happy New Year! Nathalie and I have both had a great few weeks off. Before the holidays started, we decided that we wanted to make sure that we not only spent the usual time with our families, but also had some time to ourselves. I've glad to say that we've been quite successful at accomplishing this, and although we are going to miss the luxury of free time that the holidays have brought, we're both ready to get back into the regular flow of things on Monday.

The past few weeks have been very busy for both Nathalie and I, what with back-to-school and all. I'm almost caught up on my course work, more-or-less caught up with the new web site (which after much toiling, launched), but behind on pretty much everything else. Looking forward to the extra energy that comes with the crisp weather and that extra hour of sleep.

It's turning into a nice summer for us! Nathalie has a summer contract doing translation work for Kéroul, a non-profit organization that provides tourist information to people with disabilities. Its good work with good people for a good cause. McGill is on its summer schedule, meaning that Edward is only working three days a week, giving him lots of time to get caught up on his reading as well as various projects around the apartment.
